Raptor Gate™ Heavy Duty High Speed Abort Gate
The Raptor Gate ™ (HSAG) is a high-speed abort gate designed to prevent sparks, glowing embers, or burning materials from passing past the abort gate and entering the facility through the return clean air duct. The main objective of the HSAG is to divert airflow to safely discharge contaminated air, sparks and/or flames.
The Raptor Gate (HSAG) is available in multiple sizes ranging from ø4” to ø72”. The HSAG is constructed with 10GA heavy-duty welded steel with a powder coated red finish. Standard features include a weather hood to prevent any type of precipitation from entering the ductwork, flanged squared inlet and outlet, control panel with gate position indicator lights and manual test button to confirm gate functionality. Square to round transitions for the inlet and outlet are available as an option feature to allow an easy connection to round return air duct.
Under normal operation conditions, the powered electromagnet holds the gate in the open (horizontal) position allowing airflow through the abort gate and back into the building. When a signal is sent from one of the Raptor Spark Detection components (spark detector, thermal probe, or dust probe) indicating a possible hazard is present, the Raptor Spark control panel automatically opens the dry alarm contacts to the electromagnet causing the gate to drop by gravity and divert airflow to a safe location. Manually activated reset is required after proper inspection is completed to return gate to the normal operating position.
Installation of this abort gate must follow minimum linear distances from the associated component in the upstream duct and/or vessel based on airflow velocity and reaction time. The HSAG must be installed in the horizontal position, and it’s intended for use on the return air duct only.
The Raptor Gate is NFPA Compliant when used in conjunction with Raptor Spark Detection Systems.
